ABOUT ME
I’m Louise, I help you feel safe to express & release stuck emotions using a gentle, somatic approach to trauma therapy so you are free to be your true self in the world.
I come from both worlds, clinical & intuitive
I began my career as an intensive care nurse in the NHS, where I witnessed firsthand the impact of overwhelming experiences on the body and mind. Over time, my interest shifted from survival to recovery, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. This led me to re-train as a counsellor, with a particular focus on trauma recovery.
But I noticed something was still missing.
Many people couldn’t “talk their way” through trauma because trauma isn’t just in the mind. It lives in the body.
So I began exploring trauma healing through a different lens: somatic therapy, breathwork, nervous system regulation, and yes practices that some once saw as unconventional, but are now increasingly understood and supported by modern science.
This integration of approaches is what I bring to my practice today.
The work I offer is gentle, grounded and deeply respectful.
It’s not about reliving trauma or rushing to fix anything.
It’s about creating enough safety in the body for real healing to unfold at your pace, in your way.
This might include:
Somatic awareness and trauma-informed bodywork
Breathwork and nervous system regulation
A compassionate space where all parts of you are welcome
Integrating elements from nature using archetypal imagery and visualisations
Whether you're dealing with long-held trauma, burnout, anxiety, grief, or just a deep sense that you're not quite ‘in your life’ , I’m here to support your return to wholeness.
This work is collaborative, non-pathologising, and always at your pace.
You don’t have to re-live trauma. We create space for your body to feel safe again and from that safety, healing can emerge.
You don’t need to choose between science and soul.
Working with trauma
-

Psychoeducation
Normalise your responses to what you have experienced by learning what happens in your mind & body as a result. You did what you needed to do to survive. Your coping mechanisms kept you safe and you won’t be judged for them. This approach reduces shame and allows you to approach the work with empathy & respect for yourself.
-

Nervous System Regulation
You will also learn self regulation techniques to provide a sense of safety both in session and to navigate being triggered, overwhelmed or dissociated in your daily life. This can be a combination of grounding techniques, breath work, visualisations, shamanic power animals, toning & postures.
-

Processing
A slow gentle approach to therapy avoids overwhelm or re-traumatisation and allows us to work towards you feeling safe to eventually feel the feelings you were once unable to and release them from your nervous system.
